Liz Chapman is a wife, mother of four, and now fashion designer. A creative spirit, she began to focus her energy on designing pants in early 2002 in a studio over her garage. She wanted to create something simple and comfortable, but also fashionable, that would look great all day long. While juggling activities between her children, husband, and friends, Liz realized that pants with fun and fabulous fabrics were the perfect solution. She designed capri and regular length pants, had her creations sewn up, and from that experimentation, a craze was born. The positive feedback compelled Liz to manufacture them on a larger scale.

Named after her husband's grandmother-a colorful and fun lady herself-the Nilla Shields collection has become a full lifestyle brand in contemporary clothing for women. It began with women's pants, and has expanded to include skirts, hooded jackets, and tops. She and her design team are constantly searching for new and unexpected fabrics, keeping the designs fresh and ever evolving.

Nilla Shields, LLC. has since moved to a bigger space to accommodate the company's growth, but Liz still loves the inspiration she gets from being in the space above her garage.
